We expect something to happen and wait for the same. But when it happens, we feel our past was better. We always worry about the mistakes we made, missed opportunities or the faded happiness of the past. I have always thought school life is horrible until I completed my schooling. When I entered college I felt school was better. I should have been in school. Once in college, I thought college is not as fun as I expected. Then when I started to work, I felt college life was heavenly. It would have been nice if I continued to be in college. I was thinking it would be lovely to get married. Once I got married, I felt I should have been single. Those days were carefree.
The present always felt challenging and my past was better every time. These thoughts occupied most of my life, and my focus was not fixed on what I wanted in my future. What is happening in your life? The present always feels pathetic. The past looks better. But we forget that one day it is this now moment, this present that is going to become our past.
Our life is a long journey. If we keep attaching ourselves to the past, we cannot progress successfully to our future. The chances for a bright future are then going to depend on sheer luck. There is a chance that we succeed but we are not going to be sure.
So don’t live in your past. Take lessons from the past to aid you in your future. Happy times are to cherish and enjoy. They are energy boosters. Sad times are simply lessons learned that make you wise. Focus on your present. Be in this moment and create what you want for your future. Very soon this moment will become your past.
We keep complaining that our life isn’t moving forward. How can you travel forwards with reverse gear?
See you in my sharing. Until then stay connected, my divine souls!
