Music, the rhythm of life. Music was my sole companion with all my emotions from my childhood. I used to sing when I was happy and also when I was sad. As I sang, I found that my energy shifted from sadness to excitement within a fraction of a second.
As I grew up and my life became complicated, I lost my connection with music and I wasn’t even aware of it. As I was in a transformative programme, I realized one day how I had disconnected myself from music which was my lifeline. When I listened to music that day sitting in silence, tears rolled down my eyes. How much I had entangled in the happenings of life around me that I forgot myself. I started connecting back to music.
In our culture, life starts with a piece of music called “Thalattu” and ends with another piece of music, “Oppari”. I am sure it would be something similar in other cultures too.
Music can calm you, make you sleep, rejuvenate you, heal yourself from trauma, take off negative energy around you, manifest your dream, connect to your inner self by meditation, get connected to the divine source, and much more.
Play the music softly to get much benefit. Healing music is not supposed to be loud. As far as possible do not use headphones or air pods. You can play this in your workplace (without disturbing others and also if it is permitted) and also when you want to cleanse your space.
When you are using music to relax or meditate, sit in a comfortable posture with your eyes closed. Meditation can be easily timed by selecting the music with your preferred timing. I am a person who cannot sit for meditation even for 2 minutes. Now I meditate for 18 minutes with my favourite music that instantly connects me to my inner self.
Some of the backgrounds are so earthly and connect you to nature. Nature has immense healing power. So, imagine yourself in that forest or waterfalls, or beach that shows up in the video. You don’t have to travel physically, take your mind there and experience being in nature. This enhances your relaxation.
I have selected the most vibrant music collection from YouTube and shared it here so you can connect to yourself. I have categorized it for your ease.
Open up to music and allow your life to flow.
